Look your best for online video calls
With us all conducting more of our social and business lives online through video calls via Instagram, FaceTime, Skype and Zoom, it’s more important than ever to look your very best.
Lift the spirits
This is not about being frivolous at a time when there is much to be worried about.
But is, in fact, a good way to lift the spirits, boost morale and ensure you’re feeling confident in these troubling times.
Help others
If you are able to feel good about yourself, you’ll be in a better position to help others who may be looking to you for leadership, management or, on a personal level, support, reassurance and companionship.
As they say in the safety advice before take-off on an aircraft – ‘always put on your own oxygen mask first before helping others’.
Four tips
Before you make your video calls, use these four tips:
- When applying make-up always try to use natural daylight, if you don’t it is very easy to over-do the blusher.
- Remember it’s all about defining your eyes, cheeks, eyebrows, and your lips rather than putting on too much foundation, which can be very ageing.
- When you’re on a video call, without sounding too vain, always sit in a well-lit room with the daylight in front of you, rather than side on, as this really is ageing.
- Don’t forget the angle of your screen. It is best to look upwards rather than down to avoid the jowl look. This is where the younger population have a head start with all the selfies, they have worked out their best pose already!
